Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional money the government gives to schools in England to help children who may need additional support. It’s there to make sure every child, whatever their background, can achieve their best and feel confident in school.

At Knowle DGE, we make sure all pupils get the help they need. This includes strong, high‑quality teaching and extra support for children who may need a little more help at certain times. Our Strategic Leadership Team and Local Governing Board regularly check how this funding is used and how well it’s working for our pupils.

Primary Sports Funding

Every child should have the chance to be active, healthy, and enjoy physical activity. When children have positive experiences with sport and exercise early on, it can help them stay active throughout their lives.

Being active doesn’t just help children stay physically healthy, it also supports their mental wellbeing. It can boost confidence, reduce anxiety, and help them feel happier and more resilient. Active children often show better behaviour and can achieve more in the classroom.

Knowle DGE will use this funding to continue improving PE, sport, and physical activity across the school. The aim is to make long‑lasting changes that benefit all pupils.

We will review our funding plan regularly and share updates with the Local Governing Board.  As we get to know our new pupils, we’ll adapt and develop the plan to make sure it meets their needs.
